I was at the game and Shaw and Muir sat together for most of the first half. Was thinking of all the great things I'd like to go over and say to them (and Haase), but I'm not that obnoxious. :-)
I couldn't figure out why O'Connell didn't play down the stretch. I know he's coming back from injury, but he started and looked good in the minutes he played. Though I was not an early fan of his, I have to admit that he is a steady presence with the ball and can score a bit. Thought we really needed him down the stretch. Anyone have an idea if this was classic Haasian bone-headedness or was MOC unable to go?

Rather disappointed in the players today as well. Very little competitive fire on display.
I'll quibble with that latter part. I was there and up close (who wasn't...there was no one in Maples!) and thought the players played hard. I think that (a) this is only a modestly talented group of players in the scheme of things, though enough talent do be a solid Pac-12 team given the current state of the conference, but (b) they have a f-ing terrible coach who doesn't know how to maximize their talent or coach any semblance of offense.
Anyone else notice that (at least to my memory) we had no free throws in the first half? I don't take it as a sign of lack of aggression of the individual players, but reflective of an offense that consists almost entirely of passing the ball around the perimeter ad nauseam without any screening to create open looks. Hey Jerod, maybe that isn't the best way to create shots?? Maybe we don't have the individual talent that that works??? Anyway, as has been said way too often over recent years, the fact that the team plays worse as the season progresses year after year is a flashing neon light that we have a bad coach. I feel bad for the kids; they deserve better than Haase.
