I agree Goose, and I am not certain I have confidence in the person making the AD hire.  But I think as has been stated multiple times here, there is sufficient cause to fire Muir, including several scandals that have brought disrepute to the Stanford athletics department.  The varsity blues scandal occurred under his watch, and depending on who believe, with his encouragement. Stanford was slapped with major NCAA violations for the first time ever. Then there is the financial mismanagement, the decision to drop sports, the about face on that. Muir’s unwillingness to fire coaches is actually pretty low on my list of complaints, but, having lost my confidence as an athletic director, the last thing I want to do is have him saddle the next person with a bad hire.
