See a birth announcement and say, "What an ugly kid that's going to be. The parents should be ashamed of themselves for having a baby"?
Nope. But when the couple fights constantly and has to call the cops to resolve their differences, I think, "gee, I hope they separate." And when the kid isn't provided with adequate food, shelter, and nourishment, at some point I think it's time for CPS to step in.
And that's where I'm at with Haase. Those analogies are much harsher than I wish them to be, but the reality is that I have zero faith that he will ever be able to right the ship, so I'm left to hope against hope that a teacher reports the parents to CPS and makes the suffering end.
ETA: Sorry to be harsh, but we have by far the largest endowment for a D1 school, easily the greatest endowment dollars per undergrad, and we're parents' and students' number one dream school year after year. We have what is unquestionably the best student-athlete culture in the country in terms of recognizing the importance of both the student and the athlete. We've shown we can recruit and admit one and dones, to boot.
I'm simply not willing to tolerate this kind of mediocrity, and while it's not solely Haase's fault, we've been wandering in the desert for the better part of 20 years now, and I'm pretty dang sick of it.
