Stanford should take a page from the Celtics playbook. Fire Muir and "promote" Shaw.  It's worked out for the Celtics and I bet it would work for Stanford.

That's kind of brilliant. Shaw gets to stay on campus, is an excellent representative of the University, and we can avoid an uncomfortable coaching displacement.  I think the only flaw is Shaw would be presumably taking a huuuuuuuuuge paycut.

He'll take a much bigger pay cut when he is no longer a Head Coach. But seriously, if Shaw can't fire assistant coaches, how the hell is he gonna fire head coaches?
