More generally, the flame out of the Pac 12 is not giving me warm fuzzies for Stanford's overall chances . . .

It is also unsettling me.  However, I am reminded of all those years when the Pac 12 was a doormat except for Stanford and still Stanford made regular trips to the final 4.  Tara always scheduled a ridiculous out of conference schedule to make up for it.  I wonder if we are drifting back that way.  The last time we played Maryland in Spokane was exactly such a season--and we were slighted and given a 2 seed because of the weakness of the Pac 12 schedule.

So while our achievements in the Pac 12 may not be a good barometer of our strength as a team--we have done nothing to prove we are not championship material either.  But I agree that the warm fuzzies following our conference season have vanished.
