Palo Alto, FWIW I had neither you nor your post specifically in mind when I posted my entreaty. I just generally think being a fan is more fun when the temperature is cooler, calmer and more positive than the climate has been around here this past season, and wanted to say my two cents.
If someone told me the day after our 49-31 "school record for futility" loss to ASU that within one generation of recruits we'd win a national championship with an MVP A-A no. 1 recruit, someone would have had to pick my jaw up off the floor.
During those lean years, there were probably no more than about 10 of us Cardboarders who regularly posted, followed our team, and kept the faith alive. Yet the spirit of camaraderie was strong and I genuinely, experientially, enjoyed participating around here more then than I have lately, even though we're back to throttling top ten teams with the most fluid and impressive offense I've ever seen from Stanford WBB. And my conclusion is just that after a while, the constant harping and pointedly critical/negative posts just suck the fun out of being a fan. And it seems I am not alone in reaching that conclusion.
Hopefully we can collectively course correct in the off-season.
