Both Stanton and Harper have six more years to run on their contract through Age 38.  I wouldn't want them.

It's easy to argue against 13 year contracts, nobody has advocated for that model, so those are really just straw men. This year's free agents (with the exception of Seager) all signed 3-6 year contracts. Suzuki (who has been the focus of this discussion) is 27 years old and signed for five years.
