How bad is hitting this year?  10 teams have averages over .240. 10 have averages under .230. Ariz is hitting.185. I repeat One Eighty Five. A team hitting below the Mendoza line.   And pitchers don’t hit anymore. 

I know BA is not the metric of choice these days.  But it tells us something.  HR’s are, I’m relatively certain, well down.  

Frankly, it was refreshing watching Washington score a bunch of runs over the weekend the old fashioned way.  They strung hits together, used their  speed, didn’t strike out a ton.  What a concept.  Wish it wasn’t against the Giants.
