You will never hear me criticize Sabean and his team.  He was a master at dealing prospects for big league talent. He wasn’t perfect but he was damn good.  As you noted, he brought SF three parades after a lifetime of waiting for some of us.

Then my apology.  I inferred what you did not imply….. And yes, that is how he used the farm system. Caught up to him last couple. But darn it was fun while it lasted!!

All it took was the next game after I made the post about it, to drive home the point about terrible infield defense being the millstone the Giants wear so far in 2022. Andrew Baggarly wrote about it after last night's loss.

Behind the paywall, but how can you not agree after watching the last month. Crawford doesn't look like his old self, and may be hurt. Estrada should be playing 95% of games at second. Donnie can make the easy play but not the more difficult on a regular basis. Longoria was a golden glover more than several years ago. Flores is "a gamer", (one of the silliest terms in sports) at 1st base, but they need Belt, and let Flores be main DH. He is best hitter right now.

According to a comment to the Baggerly article, Estrada dead last among qualifying 2B (-9) in defensive runs saved. Surprised the heck out of me.
