At one point in the near past we were operating at 79 scholarships, and that’s not including the fact that we gave scholarships to some preferred walk ons or fifth years to some marginal contributors.  It’s a lot easier to achieve balance when you fill your scholarships.

Yes, at some point everyone will have some recruiting gaps, and we will continue to have strengths and weaknesses, but I hope I never live to see the day when we see one defensive lineman recruited over a two year period.  That happened twice in Shaw’s tenure.
