Agree with this statement. However, one has to note that this is not the first time such a statement has been made. The football program had to return from being fully dead once and the number of epitaphs written over the years is large. I think the truth is nobody knows what will be true three years from now, so I am not as pessimistic about football surviving. "Big-time" is another issue, but even that is malleable.

I generally agree Bernie hasn't been a "good" AD on many levels. The current situation is probably a difficult one for all 10 remaining ADs. It would be great if the Office of the President would step in and replace Bernie with "someone better". I think the odds of that happening were minuscule before the departure of UCLA and U$C and are even less now. Who (that is "any good") is looking for a job as an AD in a (PAC-12)-2 school right now? If anyone, who here thinks MTL could find them? Obviously, my answers are nobody and no.

I doubt anyone worth hiring would take the job amidst the current state of confounding & confusion. We need to find a conference home and some stability for the program before replacing arguably the most incompetent AD in our history. Yes, Bernie's that bad.
