Things are so forlorn at Stanford these days I gotta wonder how excited we can get about any of this stuff. I mean think about it: How great can any of these guys be if they want to play for the Cardinal today -- to be coached by Shaw&Co.? Play in the has-been Pac12 if they're offered by the Big-Boy conferences? Be cheered on by Stanford's sold-out houses and screaming Game Day fanatics? The buzz of the Bowl-Game brand we enjoyed in the early-to-mid teens is long gone. All we got is delusional Shaw looking back through his scrap-book.
