Pickett was #4 and Haley was #32. I was aware of Macario as a HS player and saw her as a transcendent athlete. Not sure how anyone could see her as a #2. Perhaps they were worried about the torn ACL she had in HS. Or perhaps it was because, unlike Kuhlmann, Macario didn't have US Youth National team experience (because she wasn't eligible yet).(11-29-2021, 10:14 PM)BostonCard Wrote:(11-29-2021, 02:48 PM)BobK Wrote: National Rankings
Evens 1
Montoya 3
Ailey 9
Kostmayer 14
Spiekerkotter 29
That seems really good. Like top class in the country good. Is Evens the sort of difference maker that is so far ahead of everyone else as a freshman (like Catarina Macario) or is she merely really good.

Always hard to tell from hs rankings. Ironically, macario wasn't as heralded coming in as her classmates haley and Pickett but obviously well exceeded her recruiting profile. We have had other great top ranked recruits, like Andi Sullivan and Sophia Smith. We have also had others like Astrid Wheeler who hasn't played much.
