It appears that Yaz, Peterson and, yes, Longoria are also strong candidates to return.  Andrew Baggerly wrote about Longoria this morning in The Athletic.  In essence, it would cost SF a net of $8 million to bring him back.  The expectation is that he would play 3B and DH on a “Posey” schedule (roughly 2 games in the lineup followed by a day off).  In this scenario, Villar would be the alternate starter at 3B.
