The comment section features a long list of replies to a post from a physician named "Steve" who claims that Neurosurgeons aren't as smart as diagnosticians and lamenting that he is going into Neurosurgery when there is a shortage of primary care physicians in minority communities. There are so many problems with that comment that it is hard to know where to start. I hear that attitude pretty frequently, although not usually from other physicians. Anyway, there are many knowledgable responses to the post. It aggravated me to no end, and the Times closed the comment section, so I posted here.
