MLB is the only sport where the best regular season team losing in playoffs isn't shocking.
The Phillies are kind of the poster child for why. The Giants won in 2014 with just one dominant starter and a very good bullpen. The Phillies have two dominant starters, and a decent bullpen, so of course they can win it all too.
I'm still not putting too much stock in their 2-0 Game 1 win. The Padres had to be feeling the biggest hangover ever after their clinching win against the Fodgers a couple days earlier. I mean Wheeler was great, but the Padres were also understandably flat. I expect them to win today and even things up heading to Philly, but Kyle Schwarber and Bryce Harper getting hot at the same time is a scary proposition for the Pads.
