As long as CK's offense doesn't break any official rules, it's as legitimate as any other strategy available. I like that he exploits the conventions of the game and the inability/unwillingness to innovate on the part of other teams. I don't enjoy watching them do it to our team, but if I take off conference and team affiliation, I respect CK as someone who breaks conventions and finds new ways to win.
I'll admit, I'm not defensive guru, but watching the game last night, it seems like ASU over played the rush. It seemed like the crashed so many guys that when one of the Oregon offensive skill players sprung to the outside, there was no one left to contain. Mariota seems more than capable of making good passes if left un pressured, so perhaps it's a big of pick your poison, but it seemed like ASU picked the wrong poison last night. To beat Oregon, you're going to need lock down corners and a front 7 that can get pressure with a 3 man rush and use lateral speed to contain on the outside.
