Probably just rumormongering or arrant speculation, but ESPN's Adam Rittenburg did float Dave Aranda. While I don't think connections per se to the university are helpful, I do think being in more selective-university environments is generally good. That's about the only downside I could think of if Aranda were a viable candidate.

Very interesting name to be floated. At least for my money, a deeply enigmatic track record at Baylor. I'm not sure how I'd feel about that hire. I do think there are safer choices.
