Very smart guy -- I have little doubt he'd be intrigued by a more academic environment. An absolute, nuclear-powered dynamo of a recruiter in Houston. The question I have with him would be: do people (specifically in Texas) think he's still a good coach? The way his UT tenure ended, I know a large part of the state thought (fairly or not) that he was an incompetent. And while I think a lot of that is unfair and a product of the Longhorns' bonkers internal politics, the perception is nevertheless important if you're gonna roll into one of these TX high schools and try and land a Walker Little redux.
Tom Herman is widely considered a MASSIVE asshole, and UT fans couldn't wait til he was gone.
