I think quantitative analysis of this misses the point to a degree. Yes, most teams are now seeing a lot of transfers. What's damning for Stanford is our best players are transferring, many of whom end up transferring fairly laterally. Moreover, Stanford's culture of leaving is a lot more than the transfer portal. The most damning part by far is how many players - year after year - leave eligibility on the table to be Day 2, Day 3, or undrafted picks. That's really not normal.
