The final four was set up to avoid a Michigan/OSU rematch in the semis.  To Lex’s point, GA drew the short straw because there are three premium programs and one interloper.  Georgia should have been matched up against TCU rather than a powerhouse.  

Having said that, given my disdain for Dykes, I like the idea of him facing off v. Smart.  I look forward to seeing his sour facial expressions throughout the game.

I agree with your assessment.  But an OSU/Michigan rematch in the semis would have been hard to sell.  The way it is now, the rematch only happens if Ohio State stuns the Bulldogs.  And frankly, I don't think that is going to happen.  Stroud will probably be scrambling for his life as the Georgia front seven comes bearing down on him.  Denying Georgia a 2nd consecutive national championship will be tough.  The only team that can do it is probably Michigan; and the CFP wanted that match-up in the NC game, so they designed the pairing to achieve that.
