I don't get it. In this wide-open transfer portal world, it seems like he could have gone off to, say, Alabama (whose QB depth is bad post-Bryce), earned a ton of NIL money, put up some bonkers stats on a good team, and significantly upped his draft position. The 2024 QB draft board doesn't look all that stacked, after all.

Right now he has to have one of the widest ranges of projected positions in the draft - maybe ever. I have seen everything from mid rd 1 (like PFF) to mid range day3; so rd 5/6. And everything from 4th best QB to 13th+. If he believes the high end projections I guess it makers sense. We will see. But it does seem really risky vs. what you proposed.
