Oh you misguided one. Cactus Jack threw it more than any other college team. Most of the defeats were not blowouts. In the 1960 season the penultimate game was very exciting, played in a down pour before about 5,000. Norman scored on a keeper around right end but Dean Hinshaw was caught for holding and OSC won.
The ‘62 BG, Curtice’s last, was great with Chris Jessen throwing an end around TD pass to Bob Howard. And if Clark Weaver wasn’t hurt early in ‘63 Ralston would have had a far better QB to work with than Dick Berg.
I could offer more evidence but that’s enough. Don’t want to overtax your near-Octogenarian mind.
