I think there is evidence he has done at least a pretty good job as a QB coach.

I don’t know, is there? McKee kind of underperformed this year and QB recruiting has been rather underwhelming.  That could all be laid at Shaw’s doorstep, but it hardly qualifies as evidence that Pritchard “has done at least a pretty good job as QB coach.”

Tbf he has been involved in coaching 2 QBs who have NFL starts and another who is a mid round prospect.

I think Mills might have been his best coaching job.  But the fact that McKee is a mid-round prospect and was a high 4* QB out of high school, yet underperformed in our system argues against Pritchard as coach (or at least doesn’t argue for him).  The best case scenario is Sam’s, and that Pritchard’s QB’s will appear to be much better when not burdened by the system that actively sucks.

Still, QB recruiting has been poor since McKee was recruited 5! Years ago.  Yes, hard to disentangle from the general malaise affecting the program generally and offense specifically, but still, it doesn’t exactly speak to Pritchard as an excellent recruiter.

I like Pritchard a lot generally.  I actually think he might make a good head coach some day.  But because I am bullish about Pritchard, I don’t want him to be a Dave Tipton, forever stagnating as a niche position coach at the whims of whoever is running the program.  Remember, Tipton was eventually let go by Harbaugh.
