Tipton was at Stanford continuously from 1989 to 2006 (17 years) and was probably even more pigeon-holed/limited from upward career mobility beyond Stanford than Pritchard is. But why leave Stanford if you have a good job and view yourself as a Stanford Man? Of course the ride can end, like it did when Harbaugh kicked Tipton to the curb. Eventually that will happen for Pritchard too. But why would he leave of his own volition before somebody makes him? You guys are talking about him like he's a college football coach hopping from school to school for an opportunity like the others in his profession, but he's been at Stanford continuously from 2006-2023 (17 years). Like Tipton I bet Pritchard will be on campus until somebody kicks him off. When that eventually happens maybe he'll look for a job at another major college football program but we don't know that. Maybe he'll go high school like Tipton, or lower level college, or something else. Having been a more senior assistant for Stanford than Tipton was Pritchard probably has more money too.

Anyway, just think you guys are projecting in thinking he should go elsewhere. He's a lifer and when somebody tells him his Stanford life is over he'll cross that bridge when he needs to, but I don't think it's realistic/understanding of his mentality to think he'll take a shortcut to that bridge. Why leave his bliss if he doesn't have to?
