And the press release says Alamar is staying on as a "Senior Special Teams Analyst." What a win win. I don't know how anybody couldn't be thrilled with this turn of events in the structuring of our defensive/special teams staff. Actually operating like a big-time program in hiding a bona fide coach in the "analyst" ranks. And it's not like Alamar was an irreplaceable recruiter.
Feel like I'm greedy to ask for more Christmas gifts but let's close out the staff with Chevis Jackson, JD Williams, Demario Warren, Terrence Brown, TJ Rushing (yeah, I know, not happening), or Will Harris. With Gregory not coaching DBs for two decades it would be nice to get a proven stud coach for the corners. These guys largely coach at lesser programs or are Stanford alums so I'd hope one would be realistic. I realize I am aiming high but with only one spot remaining to be announced it focuses the mind!
P.S. I suppose it's possible Akina gets the last spot and works with the corners. That wouldn't be a bad result either (or maybe Akina will be the "third" DB coach in an analyst role), but I'd like new blood on the defense. Also really need a more diverse staff.
