Still not buying the dorm reason. JWT has pushed that narrative hard from what I've been told.
As someone who was a mid-year undergrad transfer and graduate school transfer, I can certainly relate to the challenges of fitting in to a new campus when everyone has already had a chance to meet and develop relationships. And I don't remember roommate change requests being denied, because when things get to that point, the request probably has merit.
Changing schools because of a living situation just is not a believable reason to me, or the person who told me about the grade release timing. You don't base your decision to be at a school on with whom or where you are living. You just don't. You make it based on the school, campus, the program you are in, the teachers (coaches). You don't decide to transfer somewhere, then pick another school because you don't like your living situation.
