Michigan co-offensive coordinator Matt Weiss has been placed on leave, according to an athletic department spokesman, as the school's police department told ESPN it is investigating a "report of computer access crimes" that occurred in December at the team's football facility.

Huh, wonder what that means.

I wonder whether it has something to do with the NCAA investigation, perhaps an attempt to clean up some records. From same article:

Earlier this month, Michigan athletic director Warde Manuel confirmed that the department received a draft of notice of allegations from the NCAA "regarding the football program." A source told the Free Press the violations were Level II against the program for recruiting and coaching violations and Level I against Harbaugh for lying or misleading NCAA investigators.

If he was trying to, or did, alter digital records that could expose MI to recruiting violations, is it plausible that JH was not aware of his actions?

If a "computer access" problem happened in December and is still being investigated, I would doubt the NCAA could move fast enough to have such a notice in early January.   I could believe (but have NO reason to accuse) that it was known in December that a NCAA notice was imminent, which could be a reason someone might want to peek at emails, documents or records or even to change them.

It is probably best to let the wheels turn and wait to see what they expose, if anything.

Heck, they may find that two separate expense receipts were photocopied onto the same page, with a boundary line that is visible if you crank the contrast as high as possible.
