During an attempt to expedite the case and achieve a "negotiated resolution," Harbaugh refused to acknowledge that he had lied to NCAA investigators, a source confirmed. He has maintained that he doesn't remember the incident in question, which has led to a standstill in the case.

Hmmm... which one of those 4 violations is one that Harbaugh might plead that he couldn't remember. Or was there something else that he couldn't remember.

I still don’t see how the recruiting violations necessarily directly tie to the police investigation. If indeed Weiss is being investigated for fraudulent access of email accounts, it could have been related to the recruiting scandal, it could not. Maybe as they investigated the recruiting they audited computer activities and stumbled across something else.

You could use unauthorized email access in ways to affect the case — maybe he attempted to delete people’s emails, or erase evidence, or impersonate a university official. But none of that has been stated yet. So maybe he used unauthorized email access to catfish someone, or to access someone’s bitcoin, or anything..

But the details make it clear it was something big — the police searched his home then parked police cars outside to monitor him. I don’t think they did that just because he had unauthorized Zoom calls with recruits to watch them practice. I don’t even think they’d do that if he deleted someone’s emails about a recruiting visit.
