2015 may pass 2014 on the strength of future NFL contributions by guys who played in 2015 but not 2014 but fundamentally those two teams had very similar talent levels. I could write a book about why 2015 was more successful. Some of the factors included dramatically more usage of McCaffrey, Garnett and Murphy finally being fourth year bullies, Kevin Hogan’s bereavement being a year later, and luck/variance. But the two teams were comparably talented. 2014 mainly had bad luck of Hogan’s dad dying and Cameron Fleming and David Yankey being so good they didn’t stick around a fifth year.
