Without Seay and Hecht we aren't the team we thought we would be last year.  Getting to match play will itself be a challenge.    Ganne doesn't seem to be playing up to her billing, and there is no consistency with the rest.  Simply not enough red numbers.  Wasn't that many days ago that the NCAA's looked like a lock.  Alright, not a lock, but the odds on favorite.

The lineup is definitely not as strong without Seay & Heck, but Kelly Xu's play has greatly improved throughout the year and I'm not ready to write off Ganne who finished top 10 at Augusta against a field that was stronger than what they will face at nationals in stroke play.

Even the top LPGA tour players have off days. Let's see where they stand after today I expect better play from Ganne & Englemann.

Also could be that Papago isn't a good course for some of these players, whereas nationals are back at Grayhawk where they had so much success last year both in stroke and match play.

They're probably no longer the favorites to repeat because of the lack of depth in the lineup but absent a collapse they'll make match play and then it's a bit of a crap shoot other than Zhang.
