The good guys come from behind in the bottom of the ninth to overcome stranding 12 runners on base and defeat the evil kal weenies, 6-5. 

Our first Tuesday night win this season? Really?

A W is a W.

During the extended period of time that I figured Stanford was going to lose this game, I was trying to figure out how much this was a terrible development overall versus just one game. There are the typical positives and negatives. 

Positives (as of the middle of the 9th)
- 5 of 6 pitchers actually pitched rather well. Those five pitchers went 8 2/3 innings, gave up 4 hits, 2 runs, 1 walk. Particularly encouraged by Dugan's solid outing and Scott, coming off two rough outings, struck out three straight for a perfect (but short) stint. 
- Getting on base. Stanford had 15 on base at that point (plus 5 more in the ninth). In the words of Moneyball, we want guys who get on base - it's the key to offense. 

Negatives (as of the middle of the 9th inning)
- The team's biggest star (Montgomery) has been in a bit of a rut (at least by his standards). Pitching is right off. Batting average has dropped 86 points in April. Only 1 HR in April. 
- By my count, Stanford was 0-13 with runners in scoring position until Sapien's walk off hit to end the game. That corresponds to 11 LOB (which would have been 13 or more if they hadn't won in the ninth). Lack of timely hitting seems to have been a thing lately. 
- Several guys had seen their averages dropping during April. Bowser down ~50 points, Cobb down 58 points, Moore ~30 points. 

But, then a ninth inning 2R HR by Montgomery and 5 hits overall, and many of those worries seem to evaporate.
