Stanford’s quest to repeat as national champions begins tomorrow  at Palouse Ridge in Pullman, WA

Stanford is the #1 seed both in the regional and nationally, despite missing Rachel Heck and Brooke Seay from last year’s lineup:
Rose Zhang
Megha Ganne
Sadie Englemann
Kelly Xu
Angelina Ye

Weather forecast is poor. 90% chance of rain tomorrow with possibility of thunderstorms. More rain on Tuesday before finally clearing on Wednesday.

In other words, springtime in the Pacific Northwest. My question is why does the NCAA even hold a regional there this time of year?

Todays forecast is for showers and possible Thunderstorms after 2 PM.  More of the same on Tuesday.  Showers are one thing, thunderstorms are another.  If the cells are close enough, play could be interrupted and make things pretty difficult if it happens both days.  The officials I am sure will be very conservative when it comes to suspending play.

Two years ago, a regional never even got started and the NCAA decided to simply base the results on ranking going into the regional. Probably the only decision they could have made at the time, but the lack of preparedness to deal with the rain was really unconscionable.

It wouldn't surprise me if this regional gets shortened to 36 holes. I'm sure Coach Walker knows this and is making sure her team is prepared for it

Lets hope that doesn't happen, at least at this point.  We are not off to a blazing start. Dead last and only team with a plus score, lots of golf yet fortunately.
