I’m visiting family this weekend so not much time to pay attention to Stanford golf. But the team figured out some things yesterday afternoon and applied them very successfully today. The course seemed to play easier for other teams too. South Carolina, USC, Texas all shot 276, -12. But no one went as low as Stanford at 273, -15.
Edit to add - Stanford’s score was the lowest in NCAA championship history.
The course generally plays tougher in the afternoon so I don’t expect any teams to post those numbers in the afternoon wave.
Stanford’s position should get it an early tee time tomorrow too. Let’s hope we see more of what they did today. Remember that the goal is to be top 8 after Monday’s final stroke play round.
