Englemann looked to be in a tough spot on 15. The match was all square. She was in a front bunker with her opponent within birdie distance. But Englemann hit a fantastic shot out of the bunker that was one roll short of going in. Pepperdine missed the birdie. Then Englemann hit it stiff on the par 3 16th for a birdie to take a 1 up lead.
17 is a driveable par 4 but Englemann laid up. She pushed her tee shot onto hard pack desert sand. From there, she hit another clutch shot to 5 feet for a birdie and the win!
Stanford leads 2-1. Xu or Seay needs to win for Stanford to advance. Both matches are all square.
