Who is the most notable player drafted that year? (clue: 13th Round)
Who did the Giants select in Round 1 that year? (clue: he won 6 games for the Giants in his career)
Most notable in 1999 draft -- Vlad Guerrero? Scott Rolen?
Both excellent choices but I think the 13th rounder had a more outstanding career than either Rolen or Guerrero.
Rolen and Guerrero are Hall of Famers. Someone with a more outstanding career than them would have to be a first-ballot HOF type of player.
The question is looking for a 1999 draftee. You said that Rich Hill is the only 1990s draftee who is still active. Therefore, the answer to this question can't be an active player. That eliminates Cabrera, Kershaw, Verlander, Scherzer, Greinke, Trout. Rather, we're looking for a retired player.
The 1999 draft seems too early for Posey.
I don't think Ichiro Suzuki was drafted.
Maybe Adrian Beltre. Or more likely, Albert Pujols?
