Somebody on twitter claimed that Stanford replaced the lighting a few years back, with the “new” lights only facing downward. No idea if that is true or not.

It is true, I had heard that people were complaining that the outfield lights were too bright and it was hard to watch games. Not sure how much of this is true or not, but I do think that the baseball field is the only field with these type of lights.

I'm in my 70s with mild cataracts.  Halogen headlights hurt my eyes.  The lights in Sunken Diamond have never bothered me.  (Caveat: small sample size.)

Does anyone know if a replay of the game is available online somewhere? I want to watch the not-home-run again and how the OF plays it...

ESPN+ On Demand is still showing all three games as available to watch.

Look for the "Replay" option.  There's a bar near the top of the screen with dates.  You can scroll it left and right.  No idea how far back it goes, but the Stanford regional is still there.

Re CWS pairings.  By my count there are three teams in the CWS that were not among the 8 national seeds: TCU, Tennessee, and Oral Roberts.  I realize that brackets determine who plays who, but #8 Stanford playing #1 Wake Forest seems a tad unfair.  Meanwhile, LSU gets to play Tennessee.

NCAA needs to toss out the brackets and match the final eight teams so the seeded teams don't play each other as much in the first round.

I agree. Fixing the brackets before the final field is set doesn't make sense to me.
