All it takes is ONE wealthy Stanford fan to decide he or she wants to bankroll Stanford to compete in the glamour sports and not only will Stanford be able to compete with any school in the country for top talent via direct payments, but I would assume if they gave enough money to the university they could get more players in the door in exchange for it.

Everyone has their price.

Does such a person exist? I have no idea, but I know if Bobk had hedge fund billions like Steve Cohen (Owner of New York Mets), he'd be that one!
