Much as I love to hate them, there was this uplifting $C story in today's NYT obits:

Of course, it wouldn't be $C without this paragraph:

Roberts did not play in 1957, his senior year, after the Pacific Coast Conference (now the Pac-12) imposed penalties against U.S.C. and other schools for providing illicit financial aid to players.

I seem to recall that Todd Marinovich's father, Marv Marinovich, was named in a USC scandal when Marv was on the football team there...
