I'm an immigrant that got into football not because I ever played it (my "career" highlight was chasing down a breakaway run at the 10 yd line in middle school flag football,) but rather because I joined the marching band and got a little taste of Friday Night Lights that way. Our high school team was terrible, but hanging out in the stands playing tunes was a blast.
