Please don't assume Asians or other new immigrants won't embrace football.  In my observation, it's the sport that new Americans gravitate most towards.  

The elite academic status of Stanford limits its appeal to those outside the Stanford family.  Even here in Boston, you will find people that will cheer for BC even if they didn't go there.  Nobody would cheer for Harvard.  Not even me and I went there.
