All that said, I think there's also a possibility Lamson has won the job (or won the opportunity to be the main QB to start against Hawaii and go from there) and Taylor is just waiting for the right opportunity to announce it. 

I think with all the buzz the Stanford Athletic Department's marketing department has generated about the upcoming football season, Taylor has had a tough time finding the right timing. I mean, the football team/season is the sixth story on Stanford's own Athletics website.
