That gives you access to many ACC sporting events. The Pac-12 Nets have always featured more live broadcasts of Stanford events than any other conference member. Part of that related to proximity to San Francisco, presumably, but Stanford simply has more varsity sports programs and many more teams ranked in the top 20 nationally. For those that wanted to see more than just Stanford football and Stanford basketball, the Pac-12 Nets was a great option, at least if you were willing to get cable or DishNet.
It’s easy to get the Pac 12 channel thru many streaming venues but people just like to complain.
The Pac-12 had some Stanford team in a live contest on the channels multiple times a week, especially in the fall.
Lacrosse - Better believe it was going to be USC, Colorado, Cal or Stanford
Field Hockey - Was there ever anything beyond Stanford vs Cal?
Women's Volleyball - Almost every Stanford game was broadcasted, while other programs were rarely on the channel.
Soccer - Stanford men's and women's soccer have been Sunday staples on the channels for years.
Pac-12 Nets also had coverage of the Pac-12 championships for cross country, swimming, tennis, and track & field.
The ACC has a channel and some bonus coverage, but they primarily stay with football, men's basketball, soccer and lacrosse.
My guess is more people will see Stanford teams because the ACC has a greater reach, but Stanford sports will be on the ACC channel a lot less often. Some of that will be because Stanford is far away from the ACC's infrastructure and the ACC's core audience. Some of that will be because the ACC just does not cover as many sports. And some of that will be because the ACC covers some sports where the existing ACC teams are simply better than Stanford (lacrosse and field hockey).
My personal worry is more about extra costs and fees that the ACC charges. I recall when Stanford soccer played ACC teams in the NCAA tournament schools like Wake Forest had rather substantial access fees just to stream the school feed. While the Pac-12, and especially Stanford offered better quality and more sports with no charge video links.
So put it together.
Stanford Athletics will be seen by more people on the ACC than on Pac-12 Nets.
Fewer Stanford teams and contests will be on the ACC than on Pac-12 Nets.
And it likely will cost a lot more, especially in the post-season, to watch Stanford sports on the ACC channel than on Pac-12 Nets.
