I have Jewish in-laws with relatives impacted by recent events in Israel. I find some of the comments on the Israel thread to be offensive and containing inaccuracies. I thought one of the rules of this board is no politics yet the moderators allow a thread filled with politics.
I'm your ally. You are entitled to your feelings. They are legitimate. Nevertheless, I see this thread in a different light. I have family who lives in the shomron and who serves in the IDF. My kids are in Jewish parochial school, my wife works in Jewish education, and the temple community is a big part of my social life. I can only have so many conversations with people who essentially share my perspective. Plus, people cry if I bring up the subject of the war. I get all sorts of emails from temple, school, etc., telling me to take extra precautions for my family's personal safety and to make sure my kids aren't exposed to traumatizing content on the internet. This is a safe place to talk with people I respect even though they don't all share my opinion. It's very healthy for me to have this outlet, and I hope that I continue have the option to come here for this conversation.
Wow. Thanks so much for sharing. Prayers for you and yours.
