The New York Times reported today that the state agencies in charge of managing groundwater are, essentially, failing to do their jobs. As grim as you thought groundwater depletion was, it's worse. The person in charge of Oklahoma's groundwater, for example, said that until recently he didn't care if the state ran dry.
