I hate when they start off with something complimentary and then pivot with the words "that being said" to deliver the bad news.
And I hate when they finish with "respect my decision". That's just a slap in the face.
I'd like to extirpate the transitional phrase, "With that being said," from the English language. It seems like it's practically a requirement in a transfer portal social media post for how often it's (poorly) invoked.
Can we also extirpate “with all due respect”?
