Simple solution- no reference in application process to where parents or other members of family went to College.  No reference to donations etc.  whether there is a familial relationship is irrelevant.

of course if the University really wants to know this info they can just look up the applicants address in their alumni database which 

- may not be current for all alums but likely would have a pretty high hit rate
- may not work for applicants who don't live with their alumni parent
