Was anyone else there?  I arrived ten minutes late and stayed for less than an hour.  They were scrimmaging (without tackling to the ground) when I arrived, then did position-specific drills for about 45 minutes, and then started scrimmaging again.  This did not remotely resemble any kind of real spring game or even any kind of competition.  Coach Taylor seems to be very averse to open practices in general.

It's silly to try to report on who looked good in these kinds of drills, but here are some small, casual observations:
- The crowd was extremely small, maybe just a few hundred people of which many were parents. There was a group of around 15 recruits in attendance.
- Injuries included: #21 Scotty Edwards, our presumed starting safety, who was on one crutch; #47 Caleb Ellis (backup CB); and top freshman receiver in the country in 2023, #13 Elic Ayomanor.
- Ayomanor did an interview for TV but was not in pads. It appears that he played through half of last season with pain management for a grade 3 AC joint separation! (per Troy Clardy's podcast) I'm purely speculating that he might have needed surgery or additional rest/therapy for that injury in the end.
- Welcome Elijah Brown, our future QB? He looked good in drills but seemed a little lost in the one series of 11 v. 11 that I was able to watch.
- The most exciting play was a long touchdown on a wheel route from Daniels to Sedrick Irvin. He was wide open and would have scored anyway, but he looked quicker than I expected (which is to say, a lot quicker than our DBs on that play).
- All of the drills and scrimmages featured Daniels first, then Lamson, then Brown/Jackson/Mirer in no discernible order.
- Season ticket prices are down slightly year-over-year, and alcohol continues to be served.
