Thanks for sharing, d4cohn. It makes me feel a lot better about the call and the win knowing that the TV announcers were wrong and didn’t know the rules. It didn’t matter that the ball hit her calf - it was a fair ball that went past the 1st baseman and there was no play for the 2nd baseman or Right Fielder so base hit! And the inning continued. Stanford wins!

In fairness to the announcers, they corrected themselves the next half-inning (top of the 6th) and pointed out the correct rule.
