I think Stanford misplayed the rundown. I was taught that you a run a baserunner back toward the base they left. Never chase a baserunner toward the base they are trying to reach. Throw the ball to your teammate right away and let them chase them down. Stanford chased the baserunner toward home then threw the ball late. That mistake compounded a fielding error which was enough to end Stanford's season.

Still, congratulations to Coach Allister, the team and the staff on a great season! Lots of highlights.

Agree Spiny. I thought that was something we all learned in Little League. Chase the runner back and the worst case is you get the out with 2 runners on the same base.

Really disappointing to lose like that. But we might never have scored against their pitcher anyway.
